Creditly Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 6, 2026
Creditly ("the app") issues Shopify native store credit for refunds and cashback on behalf of the merchants who install it. This policy describes what data the app stores and how it is used.
Data we collect
- Store information: your shop domain and an API access token, required for the app to function.
- Credit activity: for each credit issued, we store the customer ID, order ID, refund ID, amount, currency, and a note. We do not store customer names, emails, or addresses.
- Settings: the refund and cashback options you configure in the app.
How we use it
Data is used solely to issue store credit, prevent duplicate credits, and show you an activity log. We do not sell, share, or use data for advertising or analytics beyond the app's own function.
Data retention and deletion
When a customer's data is redacted via Shopify's GDPR process, their credit activity records are deleted. When you uninstall the app, your session is deleted immediately, and all remaining shop data is deleted when Shopify sends the shop redaction request (48 hours after uninstall).
Customer data requests
When Shopify sends a customer data request on a shopper's behalf, the app acknowledges it. Because Creditly stores only customer IDs, order IDs, and credit amounts — all of which the merchant already holds in their Shopify admin — no separate data export is generated. A merchant or customer who wants a copy of this data can email the address below.
Third parties
Data is stored on our hosting provider's infrastructure (application server and database). No other third parties receive your data.
